Ence and Botnia suspended their plants
La Republica, another uruguayan journal, adds problems with the World Bank, in the words of the vice-president of Ence, Oyarzábal: "Hay cosas que no dependem de nosotros porque hay un tema imprescindible...para abordar la inversión, dependemos de las aprobaciones del Banco Mudial para tener una garantía".
Also, Botnia stopped it´s activities, but in this case the problem, according to the news, are the protest and the paralisation made by the Union of workers, unhappy with the foreign workers that came to work in the plant, and replace their jobs.
It is at least curious that after a few days of the Digital March initiated by the Asamblea de Gualeguaychú, both companies decided to stop their activities at the same day. Even that none of them, nor the media considers it, the dependancy of the companies to the approval of World Bank indicates that this is, at least, a combination of social mobilizations.
